Disney Park Guide: Pages 28 & 29

Page 28, The Walt Disney World Golf Resort was a 125-room hotel (made of wood and volcanic rock) situated between two golf courses. It's changed names a few times since then (The Disney Inn in '86 & Shades Of Green in '94) and is now owned by, believe it or not, The Department Of Defense.

Page 29, Fort Wilderness (which opened in November of '71) offers much of the same amenities today that it did back then: horseback riding, moonlight cruises -- even the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Review, one of the longest running shows at Disneyworld. And while it's still a pet-friendly resort, the cost of kenneling your dog has jumped from a dollar a day in 1976 to somewhere around 23 bucks today.
